LATE POST. 042/365: 02-11-10 Chins

I have a butt chin, I know. This was accidentally framed this way and I liked it. And it was asking to be monkeyed with in Lightroom. The colors, the colors!

009/365: 01-09-10 Chicken Chilaquiles

Dang, that looks good, doesn’t it.

And guess who has one thumb and made it all by herself?

….. THIS GAL!

Wockawockawocka.

That delectable dish is called Chicken Chilaquiles, and it’s a recipe from Cooking Light magazine, which I used to subscribe to. That’s kinda hilarious since I am a wuss about cooking and also I am fat. But [...]

006/365: 01-06-2010 Tripod? TRY WAD. OF CRAP.

Well, all three of my self-portrait ideas fell through today. Two are postponed, so I won’t spoil them. But the third is still coming to you, albeit in a lesser, jankier, more disappointing form.

See, I bought a tripod for Project 2010. Figured I’d need one, what with all the self-portraitin’ and all. Nothing fancy, just [...]

My Portrait 365 by the delightful Amie Vanderford

Amie Vanderford shoots a portrait per day of fun, creative Memphians for her Portrait 365 series. She was cool enough to ask me to do a portrait and feature my love for horror movies, and I was all like HELL YEAH I WILL. So tonight she came over for a while and set up this [...]

Day 282 (10/13/2009): Young Avenue Deli, table-level

Despite my cold, I was stir crazy on Tuesday. Diana and I met for drinks at the Deli, then I had a few at Boscos. Full set here.

* I like this photo. Straight out of the camera too! *

Day 280 (10/11/2009): 101 Travel Stop

What started as merely a stop to pee became an adventure in WTFness. At Exit 101 on I-40, nearly visible from the interstate, is a huge gas station/restaurant/gift shop called 101 Travel Stop. It’s the only business within sight. It’s enormous; it’s got a second floor I didn’t even go on. And it is full, [...]

Playing catch-up. Day 266: More earrings.

Going a little earring-nuts these days. This photo annoys me a lot. I don’t know why I framed it like I did. I think I was trying to get six pairs I recently got on etsy (the starfish, owls, Frankenstein’s monster, fish skeleton, skulls and cats), but I’m not sure why I didn’t just move [...]

Playing catch-up. Day 263: Beetle and snake.

Wednesday afternoon/evening (well, two Wednesdays ago, now), I drove to Clarksville. I spent a few days there and my next few Project 365 photos will be from there. I’m going back on Tuesday because MY SISTER IS HAVING HER BABY ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7TH. WOOO!!! Wow. We’re going to have a baby in our family. [...]

Day 220: Midtown Market. Plus bonus sea scallops picture. Plus an uninspired post title, apparently.

Oh Midtown Market. I’ve bought so much beer here the owners have gone from recognizing me to greeting me with a grin to giving a “you again” eye roll when I walk through the doors. But today’s picture isn’t an ode to the beer store. It’s an ode to the beer store’s facade which I [...]

Day 218 (Monday, yesterday): Yellow lilies from Kroger

I like throwing a $4 bunch of flowers into the cart on grocery days. They must have just restocked the floral dept., because there were many pretty, fresh, not-picked-over flowers to choose.

OVERHEARD

Girl 1: Girl you done made him turn red.
Girl 2: As long as he don’t grow horns and turn red, we straight!
Girl 1: Ooh! You on a roll.
Girl 2: Yeah girl, I had a SUBWAY SANDWICH!
