** Photos and caption and whole entire joke stolen from Mom’s [...] EDIT DEC 29 2009: I added four photos from Mom’s collection to the bottom of the post. Scroll down for Santa Avan, four generations of the family in one photo and a curler hanging in my hair. My holiday photographing was ass-out lazy and haphazard this year. I got no photos of trees, decorations or gifts. I [...] The last two months are one long day. Thinking back, I can feel events and emotions that were long and beautiful and real at the time but now they rush in and crawl back like waves on a beach. Or strobe lights in a haunted house, maybe. The waves, or strobes if you prefer that simile [...] Neat thing about Facebook is that sometimes your uncle posts a photo you’ve never seen before of your parents, and it makes your heart swell with love. They’ve got all the regular stuff, all the not-so-regular stuff and the really not regular stuff. I’m proud and excited for my dad. I know the store will do well. And taking home a case of free microbrews every time I visit ain’t [...] Their place is a wonderland of antiques, old oddities and natural history. Some photos were monkeyed in Lightroom. Some weren’t. More pics and details in this [...] Mom and I had time to kill before we could visit Amber and Avan on their second day in the hospital, so I rode along as she ran errands and gave me a tour of areas of Clarksville I rarely see. One of these errands was Rural King. Mom is a bird watcher. The backyard is peppered [...] Went back out to the hospital for Round Two of baby time. I thought I’d give the daddy some time in the spotlight today. This is Andrew. (More pics from this day in the Avan Vaughan Powell [...] This is the first of many long overdue posts. Updating the blog has been difficult because I have been — surprise — out of my house and away from the computer screen! I’m finally understanding the allure of the laptop. They’re so tiny and a pain to use but oh the portability! But who gives a flip [...] |
